First Sake Tasting Event

On 5th September, Consul-General of Japan in Mumbai, Mr. Michio Harada hosted “The first Sake Tasting Event” at his residence with several Sake makers from Japan. This was the first such event to be hosted by the Consulate-General of Japan in Mumbai.
The Honourable Minister Mr. Subhash Desai, Minister of Industry and Mines, Maharashtra State, breweries, restaurant owners and sommeliers along with 150 guests enjoyed more than 40 different kinds of Japanese Sake and delicious Japanese food.
Consul-General Mr. Harada wished more Indians would enjoy Japanese Sake and Japanese food. He also encouraged more Indians to visit Japan in the year of the Tokyo Olympics 2020 and to enjoy Japanese culture to promote tourism between India and Japan.
Minister Desai applauded the event and expressed his wish to visit Japan again next year.
Several Sake breweries, including famous Sake maker Mr. Kato of “Born Sake”, ‘Miss SAKE 2019’ Miss Sae Haruta and Japan Sake and Shochu Makers Association from Japan, All Nippon Airways, JNTO, JETRO, Wakayama Prefecture and Yokohama City participated in this Sake promotion event. Mr. Kato gave the Japanese Sake lecture.
