General Visa Information
From 20 April,2026 onwards, the Consulate-General of Japan in Mumbai will entrust VFS Global with the facilitation of the Japan visa application process. The Consulate-General of Japan in Mumbai will no longer accept visa applications directly from the visa applicants after 20 April,2026.

(6) Processing Time
Visa process generally takes minimum 5 working days following the date of receipt of application.
However, due to increase in the volume of applications, processing times of Japanese visa can vary significantly. Visa process cannot be expedited or prioritized according to the schedule of applicants.
