Consul-General Hosted Welcome reception for the delegation of Okayama City Council Speaker

On January 22nd, Consul-General Harada hosted a welcome reception for the delegation of Okayama City Council led by the speaker Mr. Masahiko URAKAMI at his residence. The delegation visited Pune and Mumbai from 19th to 23rd January as Pune and Okayama are sister cities. More than 80 guests including Honorable Mr. Aaditya Thackeray, Cabinet Minister for Tourism and Environment, business leaders, and media people attended this dinner. They enjoyed sushi made from rice from Okayama, Japanese food and sake from Okayama and exchanged views to promote business and tourism. Consul-General Harada hoped this visit would vitalize Okayama-Pune economic, cultural, and people-to-people exchanges. He also wished for more Indian tourists to visit Japan in the year of Tokyo Olympics 2020. Minister Thackeray also expressed his willingness to strengthen bilateral ties through tourism and economy. Mr. Masahiko URAKAMI applauded the event and encouraged more and more Indians to visit Okayama city and enjoy its beautiful culture and food.
