40th R.G. Saraiya Memorial Mumbai District Japanese Language Speech Contest

The Consulate-General of Japan in Mumbai, The Indo-Japanese Association Mumbai, The Japanese Association of Mumbai and the Japanese School of Mumbai jointly held the 40th R.G. Saraiya Memorial Mumbai District Japanese Language Speech Contest on Saturday, 18th January, 2020.
Many students studying Japanese language participated in the Speech Contest which was held in three categories of elementary, junior and senior level. The participants put in a lot of efforts into their speeches and were praised by the judges for the same.
The contest was judged by the teachers of the Japanese School of Mumbai & Japan Foundation, the members of the Japanese Association of Mumbai, and the representatives from the Wakayama Prefecture Mumbai Office as well as from the City of Yokohama Mumbai Representative Office. The judges remarked that they found it difficult to choose a winner since everyone spoke very well. But they also gave valuable advice to the participants for their future speeches. The winners from the junior and senior level of this Speech Contest will participate in the 32nd West Zone Japanese Language Speech Contest to be held on 15th February, 2020 in Pune.
