Japan-India Exchange Event Held Through DOJA (gin)

On 29th April, Dr. FUKAHORI Yasukata, Consul-General of Japan hosted an event with DOJA gin produced and sold by East Side Distillery (ESD) at his residence. ESD with the help of the recipe received from Nakano BC Co., Ltd. from Wakayama Prefecture created DOJA (“DO” from Indo and “JA” from Japan) gin. This event was held to promote this Japanese brand by combining the flavours of this gin and Japanese food. Around 50 people associated with various Japanese companies attended this event.
Consul-General Dr. FUKAHORI in his opening remarks said that this celebrated the 70th anniversary year of diplomatic relations between Japan and India. He also stated that DOJA gin which is manufactured in India with the help of a recipe from Japan is the proof of the friendship between Japan and India.
Mr. Sanjiv Anand (Chairman, ESD) in his greeting speech said that DOJA was completed with the cooperation of Mr. Mehool Bhuva (President, Indo-Japanese Association (IJA) Mumbai) and that he was grateful that people related to various Japanese companies came for this event. Mr. Bhuva also thanked Consul-General Dr. FUKAHORI for having DOJA event at his residence.
After the speeches, Mr. Victor De Benito (Distillation Manager, ESD) gave a presentation on DOJA and showed the ingredients used in DOJA from Japan (Yuzu, Cedar, Japanese pepper etc.) and India (Coriander, fennel, cardamom etc.). The participants enjoyed interacting with the ingredients through touch and smell.
