Hokkaido Culinary Reception

On 15 January 2026, Consulate General of Japan in Mumbai, Hokkaido Prefecture, and Sapporo City co-hosted the Hokkaido Culinary Reception at the Official Residence of the Consul General of Japan in Mumbai.
This reception was organized with the purpose of enhancing awareness of Hokkaido’s exceptional products. Hokkaido, renowned as Japan’s northernmost prefecture, is celebrated for its pristine natural environment, rich agricultural produce, and world-class seafood. Mr. Kano, Vice-Governor of Hokkaido, also attended the occasion, underscoring the importance of strengthening cultural and economic ties between Hokkaido and Maharashtra.
The program included:
• A presentation of Hokkaido products
• A tasting session featuring cuisine prepared by Mr. Sekiguchi, Official Chef of the Consulate, using Hokkaido ingredients.
This event served as a meaningful platform for dialogue and collaboration, bringing together distinguished chefs, restaurateurs, and Japanese Cuisine Goodwill Ambassadors.
