45th R.G. Saraiya Memorial Mumbai District Japanese Language Speech Contest

On 27th September 2025, the Consulate-General of Japan in Mumbai and The Indo-Japanese Association Mumbai jointly held the 45th R.G. Saraiya Memorial Mumbai District Japanese Language Speech Contest.
Many students studying Japanese language participated in the Speech Contest which was held in three categories of elementary, junior and senior level. Judges expressed that participants’ speeches were good and shared valuable advice of focusing on what your message is and conveying it in your own words along with tips for correct pronunciation.
The contest was judged by Consul-General Mr. YAGI Koji, Principal of the Mumbai Japanese School - Mr. SATO Yoshiro, Japanese Language Advisor, Japan Foundation - Mr. SAITO Makoto and Vice President, Japanese Association Mumbai - Mr. YOSHIDA Masahiro. Vice Principal, Mumbai Japanese School - Mr. DEGUCHI Hideo and Teacher, Mumbai Japanese School – Mr. ASADA Masaharu were the Q & A judges.
The winners from the junior and senior level of this Speech Contest will participate in the West Zone Japanese Language Speech Contest in Pune.
