36th West Zone Japanese Language Speech Contest

On 1st February 2025, the Consulate-General of Japan in Mumbai and the Japanese Language Teachers’ Association, Pune held the 36th West Zone Japanese Language Speech Contest. 
  
Students of Japanese Language from the West Zone of India participated in this speech contest which was held across 2 levels – Junior and Senior. The participants showed the results of their practice and the judges praised them for their efforts. 
  
The judges for this Speech Contest were Consul-General - Mr. Yagi Koji, Principal of the Mumbai Japanese School - Mr. Yoshiro Sato, and President, Japanese Association Pune - Mr. Mitsutaka Yamasaki. Vice Principal, Mumbai Japanese School - Mr. DEGUCHI and Teacher, Mumbai Japanese School - Ms. NAGATA, were the Q & A judges. The judges were pleased by the participants’ speeches and appreciate their dedication towards Japanese language. They said participants did their best and delivered wonderful speeches.

The winners of the West Zone Japanese Language Speech Contest will participate in the All India Japanese Language Speech Contest held in Delhi.
 
This time Japanese Cultural touch was also given to the speech contest by arranging Origami, Ikebana and Bonsai demo and exhibition. These demo and exhibition were presented by, Dr. Sujata Bhat(Bonsai), Swati Dharmadhikari (Origami), Ikenobo Ikebana Pune Chapter(Ikebana).
