Message from Consul General (Greetings Upon Arrival)

Greetings!
I assumed the position as new Consul General of Japan in Mumbai by arriving on April 26th, 2024. It is my first time assignment in India, but I looked forward to it as India as nation has been taking leadership in Global South and Mumbai symbolizes such vibrant economy.
Japan and India are proud of relationship with mutual visits by heads of states annually. Such relationship has been augmented by “Special Strategic and Global Partnership” in variety of fields, such as politics, security, economy, and culture. The region of Western India under the jurisdiction of my Consulate General of Japan in Mumbai is also not exception. The friendship and cooperation between Japan and respective states as well as union territories of the region have steadily been growing deeper and strengthened. I am determined to do my best to facilitate expanding such exchanges among economy, business, culture, intellectuals and people.
Likewise, substantial number of Japanese enterprises and people are based in Western India centered in Maharashtra and Gujarat. I would make best efforts to ensure the safety of Japanese nationals including people in business and tourists, as well as to support smooth operation of Japanese companies in the Consulate General’s jurisdiction by closely cooperating with Indian government and security authorities.
I look forward to the incoming collaborations with the people of India.
