Message from Consul General(New Year Message)
2023/1/6

At the beginning of the year 2023, I would like to express my New Year greetings to everyone.
Twenty months have passed since I came to Mumbai in 2021. Since then, we all faced enormous difficulty dealing with corona pandemic. This year at last, we welcomed the New Year’s Day without almost any restrictions related to corona. I gladly predict that India-Japan relations will expand in good directions in every aspect during the course of this year ranging from cultural exchanges to business interactions.
Last year, even during the corona pandemic, we witnessed many important developments in India-Japan relations. Particularly, three bilateral summit meetings held between Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister Kishida deepened not only their personal solidarity but also the understanding and friendship among the general public of two great nations in Asia.
The bilateral relations in the regions covered by the Consulate-General of Japan in Mumbai, i.e., Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Goa, are also expanding and deepening after corona years.
This year, I believe that such a trend based on mutual trust and cultural ties derived from long historical bond will bring our close relations even to a higher plane in those states.
I would like to extend my best wishes for 2023 to be a wonderful year for the two countries, and a fruitful year for everyone.
