The Consul-General’s Commendation to Mr. Anand Mahindra, Chairman of Mahindra Group (The Promotion of Economic Ties)

On 18th February, Consul-General Harada awarded the Consul-General’s Commendation(※) to Mr. Anand Mahindra who has contributed to the promotion of economic ties and economic development between Japan and India.
We hope that he will continue to play an important role in Japan-India economic relations.

Reasons for the Commendation
Mr. Anand Mahindra has been instrumental in a lot of collaborations with Japan since becoming the chairman of the Mahindra Group in 2016. In May 2019, Tech Mahindra announced a collaboration with Mitsui Knowledge Industry Co. Ltd. (MKI) to develop next generation digital enterprise solutions in the Japanese market. In addition, in November 2020, Mahindra & Mahindra announced the production plans for a new series of advanced tractors being made with the help of Mitsubishi Mahindra Agricultural Machinery Co. Ltd. In this way, he has contributed to the development of the Japan-India economy.
