Consul-General Harada met with Mr. Chahal, the Municipal Commissioner

Consul-General of Japan in Mumbai, Mr. Michio Harada paid a courtesy call on the Municipal Commissioner, Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM), Mr. Iqbal Singh Chahal on October 5th, 2020. They discussed about issues such as the close relations between Japan and Mumbai city and the coronavirus-control measures in Mumbai.
Consul-General Harada said that Mumbai is important for Japan and Japan would like to continue working closely to promote bilateral ties by support of infrastructure projects such as Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Railway project, Mumbai metro project and Mumbai Trans Harbour Link project.
Municipal Commissioner Mr. Chahal said that he would like to show his appreciation towards the cooperation and assistance from Japan and that he would like to continue promoting bilateral cooperation with Japan. Mr. Chahal explained about the current measures to fight against corona virus pandemic in Mumbai.
