    The Project for the Provision of Medical Equipment for Retinopathy of Prematurity in Mumbai City

    On 31st of October, Mr. Michio Harada, along with trustees and staffs from Free Ophthalmic Hospitals Society’s K.B. Haji Bachooali Charitable Ophthalmic And E.N.T. Hospital, total of around 50 attendants, celebrated inauguration ceremony for the project. At the ceremony, Mr. Harada appreciated the organization’s contribution of high quality eye care services with minimum charges. Mr. Harada also expressed the hope that the assistance provided by Japan would save the sight of premature babies and reduce the incidence of eye diseases. Mr. Harada said that project will help in strengthening the friendship between India and Japan. Rtn. Dilip Vora, Trustee of the organization, extended his gratitude for the assistance from the people and government of Japan. This newly procured medical equipment for retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) is expected to reduce the number of avoidable blindness of premature babies suffering from retinal diseases. Through aforementioned project, medical equipment for retinal examination of premature babies with an aim to reduce avoidable blindness was procured.
