Consulate-General of Japan sanctioned grants for following projects.
Project: With the grant assistance, the organization will purchase agricultural and food processing tools and equipments. The project will help marginal farmers in having access to agricultural and food processing tools and equipments. This will help them in reducing operational cost of cultivation and increasing profit margins. The project will also provide alternative source of livelihood to the poor women through food processing.

2) Name of the Project: The Project for he Construction of Training Centre for Empowering the Banjara Women through Promotion of their Traditional Handicrafts in Beed District
Name of NGO: Harappani Gorbanjara Mahila Kala Vikas Mandal (HGMKVM)

Date of Contract Signature: March 14th, 2014
Project: The grant will be utilized for construction of training centre where trainings in commercial production of traditional handicrafts will be given to Banjara women. The organization will also purchase training equipments and furniture through grant. The project will help in increasing self-employment opportunities for the trained women, increasing their income and reducing their migration.

3) Name of the Project: The Project for equipping Padhar Hospital with Oxygen Generator
Name of NGO: Padhar Hospital
Grant Amount: $ 114,984
Date of Contract Signature: March 14th, 2014
Project: The grant assistance shall be utilized for procuring an oxygen generator and oxygen concentrators at Padhar Hospital which would supply oxygen to the high demand areas as operation theatres, recovery room, intensive care unit, the pediatric intensive care unit and peripheral wards like eye word. The grant will also be utilized for renovation of intensive care unit and neonatal intensive care unit. The oxygen generator would be run on solar power. The project will help Padhar Hospital in having uninterrupted oxygen supply and providing excellent patient care to the needy communities.

Grant Assistance for Grassroots Projects (GGP) scheme:
The Government of Japan offers a financial assistance scheme called “Grant Assistance for Grassroots Projects (GGP)” for development projects designed to meet the diverse basic human needs of the people in developing countries.
This GGP scheme supports projects implemented by non-profit organizations such as NGOs, medical/educational institutes and local governments, who are eligible to receive foreign funds under the concerned law of the Government of India. The major priority areas of the GGP scheme are basic health care, primary education, poverty alleviation, safe drinking water and sanitation, environment conservation, public welfare, empowerment of women etc.
The GGP has acquired an excellent reputation worldwide for providing timely support to the development projects, which directly benefit the local communities at the grassroots level.
