Ms Rehana Riyawala, Vice President of Self Employed Women’s Association (SEWA) and the beneficiaries extended their gratitude for the support from the people and government of Japan. The project helps marginal farmers in having access to agricultural and food processing machines and equipment and also in reducing operational cost of cultivation and increasing the profit.
The Consul-General of Japan in Mumbai Mr. Yoshiaki Ito appreciated SEWA’s activities for four decades in improving the living conditions of the people in need in Surendranagar district through forming Self-help groups, conducting trainings and capacity building courses. Mr. Ito also expressed the hope that equipment provided by the Consulate would contribute to the empowerment of rural people in the region.
