Rules and Regulations

Deadline: Artworks must be received electronically via e-mail by Wednesday, December 22nd, 2021.

Eligibility: The contest is open to the public.

Regulations: 

1) The contest will be held in 2 categories – Under 18, and 18+.

2) Artworks must incorporate a Tiger as well as the year 2022 (or Reiwa 4 令和4年 in the Japanese calendar). Designs must be the contestant's original artwork, not taken directly from any manga, or anime, a website, or other image or artwork protected by copyright. Any designs suspected of plagiarism or copyright violations will be disqualified without notice.

3) Please include your name in the artwork.

Submissions: Submissions must be received in digital format. High resolution photographs and scans of non-digital artwork can be sent by e-mail to culture.mumbai@by.mofa.go.jp. Only one (1) artwork will be allowed per person. In the submission email, please include the following information in the caption:
  • Name
  • Age
  • City, State (Maharashtra, Goa, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat)
  • Written consent for publication of your artwork to the Consulate’s facebook page (If you are a minor, your parents’ consent will be required)
Note: You will receive a message confirming that we have received your design submission. If you do not receive a message within 72 hours, or by the deadline, please contact us. We are not responsible for entries that are lost, misdirected, or transmitted late or incorrectly.

Purpose: One winner will be selected from each category by the Consulate from all the entries and their artwork will be displayed as the Cover Photo of the Consulate-General of Japan in Mumbai’s facebook page for 1 month each (Winner of the 18+ category – January 2022, and below 18 category – February 2022).

Award: The winners will receive a traditional Furoshiki. (Winners will be required to provide us with their address for the purpose of sending the same)

Results: Results will be declared on December 28th, 2021 on our Facebook page.

Rights: As between the Consulate-General of Japan in Mumbai and the Entrant, the Entrant retains ownership of all intellectual and industrial property rights (including moral rights) in and to their design/artwork submission. As a condition of entry, Entrant grants the Consulate-General of Japan in Mumbai a worldwide, transferable, royalty-free, and non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, publish, distribute, publicly perform, and publicly display their design/artwork for any purpose, including display on the Consulate-General of Japan in Mumbai website and social media pages, with attribution to Entrant.
